But if you or your loved one have been diagnosed with Mesothelioma as a result of Asbestos exposure, consider legal action as you may be entitled to MONETARY COMPENSATION. The best way to make certain you get good lawyers is to ask as many questions as possible.Mesothelioma can be tough to deal with so you may as well look for the best mesothelioma lawyers possible. Mesothelioma attorneys handle cases involving mesothelioma, which is a cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos. Time is of the essence where mesothelioma lawsuits are concerned, and just a few days could make the difference between financial security for your family and no compensation at all.

Generally, the state provides a 2-year statute of limitations when filing a case against an employer. It is important that family members do not talk only about mesothelioma and nothing else. The cases that are settled out of court usually can be resolved fairly quickly. That is why it is imperative a quick diagnosis is sought. If you have the chance to take your case to court, you will have to appoint a mesothelioma lawyer.

Asbestos related illnesses, most commonly mesothelioma cancer, are illnesses that result from exposure to asbestos fibers or dust. It is not required but there are good reasons to acquire an attorney who is knowledgeable in mesothelioma litigation. There are speciality lawyers and law firms for mesothelioma cases. You should choose your representation carefully, and find a mesothelioma lawyer that will take their time and give your case the best representation available. Lawyers experienced in asbestos-related litigation, and with detailed knowledge of asbestos-related laws, may best serve plaintiffs. Here is where the requirement of mesothelioma attorney comes up.The outcome of every case, be it a mesothelioma or any other case, depends on the expertise of the representing lawyer or attorney. The reason you want the top mesothelioma lawyers is so you will get the money you deserve.Mesothelioma lawyers can be tough to choose between. As a specialist and an experienced lawyer, the attorney has a fairly good idea of the cost of treatment, as he may have already dealt with many similar cases.

Malignant mesothelioma is usually a heartbreaking diagnosis but, you need to know that you can file a legal claim against the company in which you think you got the asbestos exposure from. Only when a monetary settlement or reward is arrived at, they may charge a fee or percentage of the settlement or reward. You have to provide the lawyers with as much help as possible. A successful lawsuit can provide the necessary financial compensation to aid with costly medical bills and to guarantee the financial security of your family in the future. A common theory today is that companies were aware of the risks, dangers, and effects asbestos had on people working with it daily but did not warn their employees of the dangers involved. Never hesitate to ask questions. You should contact a mesothelioma or personal injury attorney who deals especially with asbestos exposure-related diseases and mesothelioma in your area.

The asbestos is one of those dangers that we can’t see, and symptoms of asbestos exposure usually take 20 – 40 years to develop … but they’re usually 100% fatal. The symptoms are diffuse and tend to develop in a couple of decades after exposure to asbestos.

There are a few types of pipes used for this purpose and one of them is called a Transite Pipe … but for that and more on asbestos look for Asbestos in your home part 2 Use a 4″ PVC “rough in” and a 4″ PVC vent pipe for spaces larger than 2,000 square feet. Well, the problem is found in the fact the fibers are so tiny that they can become airborne. If you suspect presence of asbestos in your home, have samples of your building materials removed and laboratory-tested by an asbestos professional.Do not disturb asbestos materials.

Used for cement sheeting and pipe insulation, amosite is characterized by its straight brittle fibers. Because it was inexpensive to mine and quite plentiful, asbestos was used in building products such as home insulation, floor, ceiling and roof tiles.

Use a gas tight radon drain for all floor drains. When framing, run a radon vent pipe from the basement to the high part of the attic. ” A 3″ PVC vent pipe is sufficient for spaces that are less than 2,000 square feet.

In shipbuilding they use it for insulation of hot water pipes, steam pipes, and boilers.

Removal by a contractor licensed by the federal or state EPA is the gold standard.

It was later found to be heavily contaminated with asbestos. In the early 20th century, a man decided to capitalize on the vermiculite he found near Libby, Montana and open a mine to sell this excellent type of insulation to whoever would buy it. They are collected and then sent to a laboratory for the testing to be completed.

If so, NEVER use a product with vermiculite in it.

The insulation that is sprayed onto drop down ceilings in rooms can contain it as well. You also don’t want to lie awake at night wondering if it is present or not.Always complete an asbestos test before you begin any type of remodeling or if you are tearing down something.

Demolition and remodeling often make asbestos a prevalent danger in American households.

Some common places to look for asbestos are steam pipes, boilers, furnace ducts, resilient floor tiles, cement sheet, and mill boards.

Those who work in UK law, local government or the construction industry have heard of the word “Asbestos” for many years.

In the abdomen, a cancer of the peritoneum or tissue lining the abdominal cavity and covering various organs is called malignant peritoneal mesothelioma. Peritoneum is the thin membrane, which shields various organs of the abdomen and also provides a lubricating fluid to enable the organs to move and work properly. Pleural mesothelioma, which affects the lining of the lungs, is the most common, accounting for about 75 percent of all malignant mesotheliomas. Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a fast-moving cancer with a median survival time of between one and two years. The majority of mesotheliomas are associated with asbestos exposure.

Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include nausea and vomiting, weight loss, fever, bowel obstruction, loss of appetite and general pain in the stomach area. This, combined with the lack of an accurate history of asbestos exposure in some patients, may considerably delay diagnosis.

Remember that only a doctor can confirm the presence of mesothelioma by examining medical reports, asbestos exposure history, MRI and/or CT scan. When a biopsy of the cancer tissue is done, the types of cells that make up the cancer may be epithelioid, mixed, or sarcomatoid.

The exact treatment a lung cancer patient receives will depend on several factors. People with epithelioid cell cancers tend to survive somewhat longer; those with sarcomatoid cancers usually have the shortest survival.DMM is always treated as aggressively as possible. The epithelioid cell type has the best prognosis, the mixed or biphasic cell type the next best prognosis, and the sarcomatoid cell type the worst prognosis. The five-year survival rate for early non-small cell lung cancer is close to 50 percent; five-year survival drops to about two percent in the most advanced cases. Because of this poor prognosis, the cancer is treated as aggressively as the patient’s overall physical condition allows, with some combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Surgery is a preferred option where the bulk of the cancer can be removed. Radiotherapy to the chest may also be used to kill off remaining cancer cells.

The diagnosis of mesothelioma is not always an easy task for doctors and researchers. Her spirit nourishes the earth and warms my heart. The other day as I was weeding an idea came to mind – I had been trying to think of something I could do to make a difference..a difference for Dale.

The mesothelium of the chest cavity and the lungs is known as pleura, the stomach lining is called peritoneum and pericardium is the lining of the heart. This study found that people who ate the most apples were 58 % less likely to develop lung cancer. The lining of the heart is extremely important because it plays an important role in protecting the heart from damage and so pericardial mesothelioma is an extremely serious condition. Sometimes the tumor is removed in this procedure.Laparotomy is a surgical procedure to open the abdominal cavity and to check for signs of tumors. What is pericardial mesothelioma?Pericardial mesothelioma is a serious heart condition which consists of cancerous cells building up on the lining of the heart.

The needle biopsy is only about 40% accurate.Open Biopsy:This is one of the most accurate methods to diagnose mesothelioma. The biopsy tissue is then examined under a microscope to find out if the cells in it are normal or cancerous. It is important that you describe your pain to your physician accurately such as its severity, location and when it is more acute.

So, who’s at risk?People who work or used to work in asbestos environment, and spouses or children being exposed to asbestos fibers from work clothing brought home. If from the symptoms and medical examination the physician suspects mesothelioma or other asbestos related disease, the physician may order several diagnostic tests for the patient. Mesothelioma patients with proper doctor care are living for longer periods of time.

Mesothelioma is a kind of cancer where the malicious cells affect chest, abdomen and heart cavities and is caused by continued exposure to asbestos for a considerable period of time. When inhaled, the asbestos fibers reach the pleural layer of our lungs and damages the mesothelial cells. This tumor masses will then usually spread to other parts of the body such as the abdominal cavity.

The onset of the disease is extremely slow, sometimes taking some 40 years to fully develop; however, once the disease starts manifesting itself, it is only a matter of months before the person dies. Because of this poor prognosis, the cancer is treated as aggressively as the patient’s overall physical condition allows, with some combination of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Radiation therapy or radiotherapy is one of the oldest ways to treat different type of cancers and millions of cancer sufferers are today treated with radiation therapy. Given this long period, what tests are used to diagnose it?A common test used in cancer situations is a blood test.

The good news is that up to 40% of patients who undergo surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from their lungs are still alive five years after the surgery. The process of destroying the cancer cells by introducing the anti cancer drugs into the body is called Chemotherapy. In replacement gene therapy, doctors take out the gene that seems to be causing the cancerous growths and then replace it with a healthy functioning gene.

Mesothelioma is a fairly new type of cancer that is very serious and life threatening, as with most types of cancer. Mesothelioma is one of the rarer forms of cancer with approximately 2000 cases reported in the UK each year. That is why people who have been exposed to asbestos are advised to consult a physician at early stage.

Pleural Mesothelioma is generally an intense form of cancer that affects the membrane lining in the chest cavity. Sometimes a few benign cases are also noticed. It is believed to be caused by inhaling asbestos dust.

The disease has a long latency period of twenty to forty years. It may take some time for the diagnosis to be made.A mesothelioma patient is an individual who has been exposed to toxic asbestos fibers in the last fifty years. So most patients diagnosed with this disease are in the age group of sixties or also seventies. Remember that only a doctor can confirm the presence of mesothelioma by examining medical reports, asbestos exposure history, MRI and/or CT scan. Because of this long latency period the disease can be in an advanced stage before it is diagnosed correctly.

Till a few years back some ships used to be insulated with this toxic material. The mesothelioma pleural patient goes through four distinctive stages en route to the inevitable end. No very special concerns when people experience persistent coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain and palpitations, fever, difficulty swallowing. The spreading of the cancer to other parts of the body may also produce symptoms such as pain, trouble in swallowing and swelling of the face, arms or neck. “Staging” can tell the physician if the cancer has spread, and if it has, to where in the body it has spread.Chemotherapy is among one of the most widely used treatments of mesothelioma. Less often, you can experience trouble swallowing, cough, fever, sweating, fatigue, and weight loss. A further and more sophisticated stage of the symptoms can be the coughing up of blood.

Pleural effusion caused by collection of fluid between the two linings of lungs and chest cavity may give rise to persistent cough. It is also possible that the weak pellicle which is covering the lungs may fatten and decrease expansion and contraction. If some cases there may be no perceptible clues till the cancer has spread.

Asbestos lung cancer and mesothelioma are not the same thing.SymptomsThe major symptoms are shortness of breath, weight loss, nausea and pain. Pleural or abdominal fluid collections may be drained, and substances that prevent further formation and collection of fluid may be placed in the pleural or abdominal cavities.

So… a man who drinks 30 glasses each month would lower his risk of lung cancer by 60%.Of course, any smoker’s risk of lung cancer is higher than a non smoker’s risk.

- Asbestos Related DiseaseAsbestos related disease is responsible for 30 deaths per day, or 10,000 deaths per year. These diseases kill thousands more people than other types of cancers that get much more attention from the government and pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, cigarette-smoking asbestos workers are four times at greater risk of developing lung cancer than people who are not exposed to asbestos. Smokers who are exposed to asbestos fibers have a higher risk of contracting this disease as compared to non-smokers.

The average age at which symptoms usually start to appear is around 60 years old.It occurs more in men than in women:Mesothelioma affects men about three times more often than women in the US. People who live or work in conditions where they are exposed to asbestos fibers run the risk of developing mesothelioma. However, having a benign pleural disease may be the sign of developing asbestoses or another asbestos-related disease later.

It also is dependent on the amount of exposure. It is hard to pin down, as mesothelioma affects do not show up for a long time. In 1906, for the first time, a death was documented as caused by asbestos exposure. Most of the asbestos related diseases have a very long latency period. The disease is double deadly when it is an asbestos lung disease and the victim is a smoker.Cancer diseases related to asbestos take 2 to 4 decades before they become completely harmful.

Both found a sickness in the lungs of slaves that worked with asbestos.Despite the evidence, the diseases related to the asbestos use were ignored for a long time. The asbestos found in finished products in the houses like walls, tiles, and pipes do not pose a threat unless they are damaged or disturbed. They have crushed serpentine and used as a road surfacing material, particularly on unpaved roads in rural areas.

Even now when old buildings collapse due to fire, firefighters become exposed to asbestos.Power plants:The boilers and generators of power plants are mostly lined with asbestos. Mesothelioma litigation helps the person who has developed mesothelioma to receive a good and fair compensation amount from the firms that expose the asbestos.

This kind of cancer is a deadly asbestos related illness. This exposure can be direct with the substance or second-hand, with a family member whose clothing or skin carried the asbestos into the home. However, asbestos comes with accompanying health hazards.

It usually takes fifteen to thirty years of exposure to asbestos to contract lung cancer. ” Even if you feel healthy whilst you are working with asbestos, you may get sick several years after. There is an increased risk of developing asbestos-related illness if a person worked in an industry requiring constant, prolonged exposure. Millions of Americans were believed to have been exposed to asbestos dust particles in their course of work.

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that can be malignant or benign, the malignant type is very dangerous type and may be deadly in most cases. Mesothelioma lawyers are the best source of Mesothelioma information to help take a stance and make a difference.Pleural Mesotheliomas are more common than peritoneal ones. Pleural type is the most famous type and the most cases are diagnosed as Pleural mesothelioma.Peritoneal type, in this case the tumors will be developed in the Peritoneum. The peritoneum is made up of two parts such as visceral peritoneum that covers the internal organs and parietal peritoneum that covers the abdominal cavity. Peritoneum is the outer membrane of internal organs in the abdominal cavity. Complete this article to discover the malignant peritoneal mesothelioma disease. How does it develop?

After this time, the number of people who develop mesothelioma will begin to fall annually.Mesothelioma does not typically develop for many years after the initial exposure to asbestos. The main cause for this type of cancer is the inhalation of asbestos fibers which get embedded in the lung linings, also known as the pleura. After the inhalation of asbestos, these materials move from the chest to the abdominal cavity throughout the blood stream. The above information will take us to the word “Asbestos”, what are Asbestos?

I am not really sure why but when I hear the word asbestos my mind thinks of it is a negative, a bad word, I think of cancer and suffering. These workers initially were the workers that worked directly with the asbestos materials in the factories.

Mesothelioma treatment options can be divided into three main options, the first one is the surgery option, the second on is the chemotherapy option and the third one is the radiation options. There are a lots of websites online to help in the public research of mesothelioma to detect the warning signs that lead to early diagnosis and afterward the blessing of early treatment. These people include construction workers and those who work in asbestos manufacturing plants.

Who conducts mesothelioma clinical trials?Mesothelioma trials are conducted to study and experiment on the effectiveness of the new drugs and treatments invented for mesothelioma.

Patients who show symptoms of mesothelioma can participate in this trial.Treatment Trials:This trial tests the effectiveness of new types of treatments and the various new drugs. An oncologist usually offers his/her services in hospitals, medical centers and research centre. It is read by doctors wearing little white lab coats in private offices all across the country. Clinical trials use volunteers to test the new device or drug so that their effect can be monitored. Are there Clinical Trials for New Mesothelioma Treatments?Yes, absolutely. Phase I trails typically only require a small number of volunteers and test how newly developed drugs, devices, or procedures should be administered.

They do this because they want volunteers to test their new drugs. How to find mesothelioma clinical trials? The advertisement for clinical trials appears in cancer centers, newspapers and magazines.

Some cancer treatment centers are involved in clinical trials using biotherapy and immunotherapy. Who are the people in the clinical trials? Many people enlist themselves in mesothelioma clinical trials. It should be an informed decision. The volunteer should also check whether he or she is qualified for the particular clinical trial. These are the people who may be anxious to try out the new medicines or treatments or these may be people who want to help other people like themselves, who suffer from this terrible condition. In the United States, clinical trials must be approved by the Health Authority or Ethics Committee before the trial can officially take place. Phase III clinical trials usually involve a large number of volunteers.Who’s Eligible to Participate?Certain trials require certain types of volunteers.

PDT is still in the trial stages and very experimental.Clinical Trials and Eligibility Clinical Trials provide research by using a sampling of people affected by the cancer.

A clinical trial is a research study that involves people and is designed to find new treatments and better ways to use current treatments. Sputum test is non-contributory and open pleural biopsy may be necessary to characterize the type of tumor before treatment.

Clinical trial is a rigorously controlled test of a new medicine or a new invasive medical device on human subjects. The goals are to determine the correct dosage and the side effects.

A phase III trial compares a new cancer treatment with a standard treatment, and requires a large number of participants. Depending on the type of medicine used, the treatment can be applied weekly or every two to three weeks.Peritoneal mesothelioma does not always respond to traditional mesothelioma treatment ways. The comparative risks, benefits and effectiveness are analyzed. What are the benefits of mesothelioma clinical trials? There are many benefits of taking part in a mesothelioma clinical trial.

But nowadays doctors emphasize on undergoing clinical trials for patients of Mesothelioma because numerous trials are being carried out in reputed cancer institutes.

If the therapy is part of a clinical trial, find out who the sponsor is.

Through clinical trials you would get access to cutting-edge drugs that may be beneficial in helping to prolong your life. In the process most of the time participants get financial compensation.

For the various conditions and diseases, lots of new medicines and treatments are being invented everyday. Current radical mesothelioma treatments include chemotherapy treatments, radiation treatments, surgical treatments and experimental therapies and drugs. Some volunteers may pose restrictions and demand only certain types of treatments.

What is a clinical trial?Medical research is rapidly expanding all over the world. It can stay dormant in your body for many years, displaying symptoms that doesn’t require a special medical attention.

It should try to advance medical science to make new innovations in the treatment of mesothelioma. These medicines and treatments have to be studied in depth, analyzed and tested. They need to pay out millions upon millions of dollars to those that have been affected by their neglect.

There are instances where trials do go wrong and people suffer more; this is rare; the media do not report on good clinical trials only the negative ones. However, there are several things that can be done to alleviate pain and make the patient’s life more comfortable. While it is very rare, people have been harmed, and have even died, while taking part in clinical trials.

If you are suffering from mesothelioma, participating in a clinical trial may be a great option for you.

If you choose meso-treatments that is radical, such as surgery, or a clinical trial that involves a new but drugs that are unproven, then you need such a mesothelioma cancers center.

Orally: This method involves the taking of medicine through the mouth in form of pill, capsule, or liquid form;2. But once diagnosed, the condition will often worsen and lead to severe disability and even death if the exposure to asbestos continues. What is Mesothelioma?

The aim of treatment at this stage is not curative and these modes of treatments have serious side effects which the patient must be aware of. Two of the most important questions to ask about the trial are what makes it different from standard treatments and are there any specific side-effects.

These treatments may be expensive and some might not even be covered under the health insurance. Speak with your doctor to find a clinical trial that is right for you.

Speak with your doctor to see if your participation in a clinical trial is a good idea. This test is usually done in the hospital. A comprehensive medical history with frequent doctor visits is the best choice for an improved diagnosis.

Most doctors have not experienced first-hand diagnosis or treatment of a mesothelioma patient. However, this is a very risky type of surgery and the chances are high of patient fatality within a month.

If you do decide to participate in a clinical trial you will receive more test and examinations than usual as your progress will need to be closely monitored.

They will receive the new treatment or the standard treatment. It’s up to you whether you want to participate in a clinical trial. A Clinical trial could very easily prove to be the cure to mesothelioma in the future.

With the passage of time, studies revealed that the cancerous disease was common in people of South African origin. This study has not shown improved survival but studies are still being done to try this treatment.Other new studies are done daily and many patients try clinical trials.

The choice of the treatment is based on many factors like the stage of the cancer, age of the patient as well as his own choice. The choice of the law firm to handle your mesothelioma lawsuit is a very important choice to make.

But, as we focus on better treatments, we cannot lose focus on prevention.Of course the simplest way to prevent lung cancer is not to smoke. Every person who is suffering from asbestos cancer is eligible for filling a lawsuit. A trial involving pleural mesothelioma cannot use a person suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma.

A trial requiring a person in the fourth stage of cancer cannot use a patient who is in the first stage of cancer. The media is quick to pick up on an instance when a volunteer in a study is harmed.

He will take into account age, medical record, disabilities, allergies, sex, even weight.

Given its special property, asbestos is used in things that require heat or fire resistance such as brake shoes, gaskets and other equipment that require heat insulation at very high temperatures. People who have worked in asbestos industries or lived around asbestos industries and their families are more prone to get this disease.

Various patients of different backgrounds with different stages and types of mesothelioma are required for the clinical trials.

There are different types of clinical trials and eligibility is not the same for all.

Some of them are listed below:Prevention Trials:These trials are directed towards finding out a way to avoid the occurrence of mesothelioma. Allen of the Wesley Medical Center in Brisbane, Australia documented the case of a 61-year-old woman with mesothelioma who went into remission within months, and has stayed in remission for years. They try to find out ways to prevent recurrence.Screening Trials:These trials are conducted to study whether the diagnosis and discovery of cancer is effective.

These clinical trials are conducted by doctors in order to find out if a particular treatment is effective against the disease and safe for patients before it is recommended for general use. People who casually smoke are also not free from this, as they could also develop lung cancer.

Test for the effectiveness of the drug and how it should be used when released for use.Phase 4: Perform follow ups and studies from the previous phases of research and mesothelioma trials. Even acute symptoms of mesothelioma may be mistakenly associated with other diseases. There are, however, some patients who do not show any important symptoms at all.

It is important to state that not only new drugs are studied in a clinical trial but treatments such as surgery, radiation therapy and other treatments may also be studied. Some volunteers may give a freehand to the medical researchers to offer any type of treatment.

The concurrent use of Ayurvedic medicines therefore, assumes more importance, to control the tumor, improve quality of life and improve the survival rate. Patients with advanced mesothelioma are usually offered palliative treatment to reduce the discomfort from their symptoms.

Since there are various types of mesothelioma that affect different body parts, it is best if the disease is treated with a team.

However not everyone can qualify for a clinical trial.

Patients can talk to their doctors in detail before taking the final decision to participate.Apart from conventional treatments Alternative Therapies are recommended for the patients.

Lung cancer was the single biggest type of cancer diagnosed which accounts for 22% of all cancer deaths in 2004. Lung cancer accounts for one of the most cancer-related deaths in both men and women, is responsible for 1.3 million deaths annually worldwide.

It accounts for about 30% of all deaths from cancer. The unfortunate reality is that many of those deaths could have been prevented — fully 85% of all lung cancers are caused by smoking. Extended exposure to second-hand or passive smoke – the CDC reports that there are over 3-thousand lung cancer deaths a year attributable to second-hand smoke.4. If everyone were to give up smoking, the incidence of lung cancer would drop dramatically. After smoking, radon exposure is the second most common cause of lung cancer in America.

When a person stops smoking, his lung cancer risk is lowered by almost half in 10 years. Finally, the second most common cause of lung cancer is exposure to radon, a colorless gas found in the ground. How can there be any current risk of asbestos exposure?Answer: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that over 700,000 public buildings in this country still contain asbestos.

Mesothelioma is less common in African Americans than in white Americans. This is because of a high cultural propensity among this group to take up the smoking habit. This is also one of the deadliest forms of cancer around.

Malignant Mesothelioma is known as one of the worlds deadliest forms of cancer. Cancer statistics show that the five year survival rate of breast cancer patients is 87%, while that of colon cancer patients is 62%. In 2004 lung cancer killed more people than breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer combined. The five-year survival rate for early non-small cell lung cancer is close to 50 percent; five-year survival drops to about two percent in the most advanced cases.

Sufferers only become aware of symptoms once the cancer has reached an advanced stage, which is why the disease is so difficult to treat and has such a low survival rate once diagnosed. In stage four of the cancer, the cancer has spread to other parts of the body and the tumor has often deeply eaten into various key organs and tissues in the body. It actually reduces the damage significantly and controls the spread somewhat.

If a person stops smoking the risks reduce quickly and after 15 years the chances of developing lung cancer are the same as a non-smoker. In reality these are quite ineffective and unfortunately it is extremely difficult to be completely cured from mesothelioma. Every year that you do not smoke, your chances of developing lung cancer drop further.

Whilst all smokers are more likely to develop this type of cancer than non-smokers, certain smokers may be more at risk because of their family history.

Studies have found that cigarette smokers have a four to eleven times greater chance of getting lung cancer than non-smokers. And current smokers are 13 times as likely to die of this illness. It is obvious that prevention is the best policy when it comes to lung cancer.

Women smokers have 5 to 15 times greater risk than non-smoking women. Cigar and pipe smokers are at 5% higher risk to die of lung cancer than non-smokers.

Some studies show that those who are taking selenium supplements exhibit about 46 percent lower lung cancer rate.Vitamin C is also good in the prevention of lung cancer. You can prevent health related illnesses like emphysema, heart disease and lung cancer by never smoking or quitting smoking as soon as possible.
